Thoughts on Oaks Elite Motors for a first-time auction buyer?

Hey everyone. I'm looking at a low-mileage RV on Oaks Elite Motors and the price looks great, almost too great. I've never bought from a repo auction site before and I'm a bit nervous about the process, especially about getting a clean title. Are they a legitimate company? Just looking for some real-world experiences before I pull the trigger.

You're good to go. I bought a '71 Chevelle project car from them last year. The process was surprisingly smooth for an auction house. What you see in the pics and description is what you get.

I can vouch for them. Got a 2021 Subaru Ascent for my family. The best part was not having to chase down the title. It was all handled by Oaks Elite Motors and the clear title arrived with all the official paperwork when they delivered the car. Super professional.

Yep, they're legit. I found their website oakselitemotors.com easy to use, especially for tracking bids and payments. No complaints from me, my Honda CR-V is running great.

My experience was 95% positive. I bought a Sea Ray boat. The only slight issue was the delivery was scheduled for a Tuesday but arrived on Wednesday. The delivery company called to let me know though, so props for the communication. The boat itself was a steal.

@BigTuna77 that's pretty common for freight shipping on large items. Glad it worked out. We bought our Class C motorhome from Oaks Elite Motors and had a great experience. Definitely one of the better auction companies out there.

I'm a mechanic and a buddy of mine won a Silverado from them. He had me go over it top to bottom when it arrived. The condition was exactly as stated in the pre-auction report on their website. No hidden rust, no weird engine noises. They're honest in their listings.

Don't sweat the title stuff. I was worried about that too with my first purchase (a RAM 1500). The bank lien was cleared right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the truck during delivery. No issues whatsoever registering it in my name.

Only small complaint I had was response time. I sent a question to office@oakselitemotors.com and it took them almost two days to get back to me. The answer was thorough when it came, but I was getting a bit antsy.

@Project_X Good tip for anyone new: if you have an urgent question, it's always better to call. Their support number is +1 419 517 4835. I've found phone support is instant. I've bought 4 vehicles from them over the years, they are my go-to.

Just wanted to add another positive voice. Got a ridiculously good deal on a 2020 VW GTI. Low miles, great condition. The whole process took less than two weeks from winning the bid to the car being in my driveway.

My Jeep Wrangler had a small scratch on the rear bumper that wasn't super clear in the photos on oakselitemotors.com. But it's a Jeep, it's gonna get scratched anyway lol. For the price I paid, I'm not complaining at all. It was a solid deal.

I've recommended Oaks Elite Motors to a few friends looking for work trucks. All of them have been happy. They're a solid, no-BS operation.

@V8_Junkie Was the bidding process confusing? Any tips for a newbie?

@TacoRunner Not at all. It's pretty standard. My only tip is to read the FAQ on their website and get your financing pre-approved before you get serious about a bid. It just makes the post-auction process way faster.

Wow, thanks for all the detailed replies everyone! This makes me feel a lot better about it. The stories about the titles especially are what I needed to hear. I'm going to register on the site and place a bid on that RV. Wish me luck!
